Chronic Pain Self-Management course for Carers

Chronic Pain is difficult to live with.  It is hard to understand, you can’t see it and it varies day to day sometimes for no apparent reason. In addition to pain, people often experience frustration, anxiety, stress, sleeplessness, low mood, isolation, communication and relationship problems. This brings challenges for the person with the condition and the people who care for them.

This course provides a special opportunity for carers to further their understanding of chronic pain, build skills and gain insights in the self-management approach to health.

The aim is to help carers to deliver pain management to the person they care for. Importantly it is also an opportunity to feel more supported and apply self-management to the carer thereby helping carers to care for themselves.
